Functionality and Technology of Angle Measuring Sensors
The heart of the magnetic angular sensor is the integrated double differential Hall element, which creates an electrical parameter dependent on the flux direction of the external magnetic field. The magnetic field rotating around the central axis of this element produces two sinusoids shifted by 90°, which perceive the angle of rotation as an absolute value.
The integrated electronic circuit converts the sinusoids into a linear voltage or current signal. The absolute detection principle ensures the correct rotation angle is output even after power loss.
